Professional Practice
In my professional life, I am the Director of the Des Lee Gallery, part of Washington University in St. Louis’ Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. I have held this position since 2010. I administer, organize, and curate exhibitions and have worked with hundreds of artists in this capacity. The gallery’s main focus is working with our students, alumni, faculty and providing a space for timely exhibitions that include artist from most strata of the art world. In my work with undergraduate and graduate students, my aim is to give them a professional gallery experience to help build a base of knowledge for their professional careers. I also work directly with several MFA candidates each year in an advisory capacity and help to train those interested in museum and gallery work in curatorial strategy and standard procedures and art handling skills.
I also work with a handful of private clients, designers and other institutions as an art installation expert.
Prior to the Des Lee Gallery, I served as Exhibitions Manager at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis from 2002-2007.
